Celebrating World Book Day with Sutton Libraries

Today is World Book Day and it is one of my favourite days of the year. It’s lovely to see our children and young people, walking to school, dressed as their favourite book characters. This year’s World Book Day is particularly special as we mark the National Year of Reading, a time for all of us to "Go All In" and find out how life-changing the simple habit of reading can be.
I love reading for pleasure and I am a proud member and frequent user of many of Sutton’s eight fantastic, well-used libraries. I am really excited to announce the launch of the Sutton Libraries Adult Reading Challenge as part of the National Year of Reading.
Research shows that just six minutes of leisure reading can reduce stress levels by over 60%. Whether you want to read one book this year or more, our reading challenge is designed to be flexible and fun. With help to guide you, it’s a wonderful way to discover new authors and make reading a regular part of your routine.
Sutton’s libraries are there for you to go into. They are accessible to everyone and free to use and open Monday to Saturday from 8am–9pm and Sunday from 9am–6pm.
