Local elections will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026 to elect new local councillors in the borough.

The Children’s Emergency Duty Team (CEDT) provides out-of-hours social work support for children and families in Sutton.
CEDT also oversees Kingston-Upon-Thames, Merton and Richmond-Upon-Thames.
We respond to urgent child protection concerns that arise outside of normal working hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Our team works to ensure the safety and welfare of children and young people during emergency situations.

Any details that you provide are held in the strictest of confidence and not disclosed to any party. This includes anyone connected to the child you have concerns about.
Our social work team will handle your report, make enquiries, and contact you again if necessary.
We will listen carefully and act quickly if a child is at risk.
