The Council has today confirmed the opening of the new Living Well Centre, supporting people with dementia at 316 Malden Road, Cheam. This letter has been sent to residents who used to attend the Cheam Priory Day Centre.
In October, the Council closed 316 Malden Road which meant that Cheam Priory Day Centre was unable to run their services from the building. The Council took this action because rent had not been paid and urgent repairs were needed to the building.
Since the closure, trained colleagues from the Council’s Adult Social Care team have been in contact with individuals and carers of residents that previously used Cheam Priory Day Centre to provide them with alternative support.
Now the repairs have been completed, the Council has confirmed that the building will re-open. The Living Well Centre will be run by Age UK Sutton and will be available to previous users of Cheam Priory Day Centre, along with other residents in the local area.
The new Living Well Centre will open on 12 January 2026. More information about the Centre can be found on the Age UK Sutton website.
