The Insurance Service supports the council and its customers by managing their respective insurance policies, handling claims in-house and providing risk management advice.
It also works in partnership with local boroughs including Epsom and Ewell Borough Council, Surrey Heath Borough Council, Reigate and Banstead Borough Council, Tandridge District Council, Waverley Borough Council and the London Borough of Merton, through the integrated insurance services. In addition, the Insurance Service also handles claims on behalf of the London Borough of Bromley.
Fraud prevention and detection
Sutton Council takes fraud very seriously and where evidence is available to establish a claim has been misrepresented, falsified or exaggerated we will take all available actions to ensure justice is taken to protect the public purse.
In order to prevent and detect fraud, we may share information at any time with other organisations and public bodies including but not limited to other local authorities and the police.
If you are aware of any claim being presented to Sutton Council, where either the facts of the case are fraudulent or the claimant is providing a misrepresentation of the facts, please call 020 8770 5353 in confidence and anonymously, if necessary, to report insurance fraud to Sutton Council's insurance service.
