Local rides and cycling groups
There are plenty of cycling clubs, local rides and groups in Sutton. Many run led rides for beginners or those coming back to cycling.
Women on Wheels (WoW)
The ride with WoW is a great opportunity to gain confidence on your bike in a fun and sociable environment.
Experienced Sutton Council cyclist instructors lead the rides. They usually last for two to three hours and follow quieter routes at a leisurely pace. There is also a refreshment break.
Rides take place on the second Sunday of every month.
The group meets at 10am outside:
the Honeywood Tearooms & Museum, Honeywood Walk, Carshalton SM5 3NX.
You'll need to register with Women on Wheels first. Once you have registered you will be able to book a place on a ride.
Book your place
Before you join a ride, you must have the following control skills:
- set off
- cover brake levers and pedal using gears (if present) while looking up and ahead
- look around to identify and avoid hazards while pedalling
- turn left and right at different speeds
- look behind
- slow down and stop
Let’s Ride Local
HSBC UK Let’s Ride (formerly Sky Ride) offer organised rides for men, women and children (depending on ride level).
