To celebrate Changing Places Awareness Day, we are delighted to confirm that we have successfully secured central government funding to install four new Changing Places toilets in the borough.
Changing Places toilets are larger, more accessible toilets with specialist equipment such as hoists and adult-sized changing beds. Following resident and stakeholder consultation, the new toilets will be located at:
- St Nicholas Centre on Sutton High Street
- David Weir Leisure Centre
- Cheam Library
- Beddington Park Pavilion
Feasibility studies are currently being carried out on these locations with installation due to start in early 2023. More details will be shared with residents after the feasibility studies have been completed and confirmed plans for each toilet agreed.
This will take the total to seven Changing Places toilets in Sutton, to complement the ones already in place at:
- Sutton train station
- St Helier Hospital
- 3 Robin Hood Lane
