Beddington Park is a popular and much loved park. It is large, covering 58 hectares. There's something for all with beautiful woodland walks and wildlife, formal gardens, a lake, a newly enlarged children's playground and a range of activities and events. The River Wandle runs through the park culminating in a lake in the Grange Garden.

The park has recently been improved and restored through HLF funding.

History

Beddington park is one of the richest historical and archaeological sites in South West London, with evidence of Bronze Age settlements and the remains of a nearby Roman villa. The park was originally a deer park in the 14th century owned by the noble Carew family. The Carew manor house still stands in the park today and is currently used as a school. The Great Tudor Hall which is a surviving part of the medieval Manor house, is the only Grade 1 listed building in the Borough of Sutton.
