The park was formed from the grounds of four large suburban properties situated along Carshalton Road and Manor Park Road. The largest house, situated on Manor Park Road, was called Manor Park House and is where the park got its name from.
The Manor park cafe
The cafe was built in 2010, and is an eco-friendly building. It was built with straw and natural materials such as straw which is:
- locally available
- renewable
- clean
- plentiful
- durable
- structurally strong, and
- super-insulating
