People Keep Sutton Clean

  • Sutton Council and Veolia launch a new campaign that recognises the team effort required to keep the borough looking its best.
  • The campaign, which features residents and staff, aims to highlight the new investment the Council is making in street cleaning services and how residents can get involved too.

‘People Keep Sutton Clean’ features Ikieno and Sarah, two street cleaners who work for Veolia, the Council's street cleaning contractor. Sutton Council is investing more in its street cleaning services and its recently-launched new contract with Veolia aims to raise standards significantly.

The campaign also features Ben, an Environmental Enforcement Officer who works for Kingdom. Ben and his colleagues patrol the borough’s streets identifying, investigating and taking action against people who drop litter or fly-tip. By acting as a deterrent, they play a key role in keeping the borough's streets clean.

In addition to recognising the commitment and dedication of front-line workers, the campaign also acknowledges the huge contribution made by Sutton’s residents to keeping the borough’s streets clean. Whether that be Isobel, who always cleans up after her dog; Yasir, who always puts his litter in a bin; or Georgia, who regularly volunteers her time to take part in community litter picks.
