Support and information for adults living with a physical disability.

Who we support

We support people from the age of 18, who are living with a physical disability. We also support parent carers of children with a physical disability.

A physical disability is any condition that permanently prevents normal body movement or control. It can be anything that impacts on the person’s ability to go about their life.

Physical disabilities and conditions can range from:

  • loss of a limb
  • spinal injury
  • long-term illness such as arthritis
  • acquired brain injury

Get a care assessment

You can request a care needs assessment to find out if you’re entitled to support with your care.

Help with paying for care

If you’re eligible for support from the Council, you can buy your own care with a Personal Budget. This is a Direct Payment given to you to pay for your care services.

We'll first carry out a financial assessment to check you're getting all of the benefits you are entitled to.

Depending on your situation, the assessment may find that you have to contribute towards your care costs, or you could get the service free.
