Manage your Council Tax using MyAccount

You can register for MyAccount to manage your Sutton Council Tax and benefits accounts online.

We'll check your details against the information we hold about you. Be careful when registering, as errors could prevent us from setting up your account.

Register for MyAccount

What you'll need

When you register for MyAccount, you'll need to enter:

  • your email address
  • your Council Tax number or claim reference
  • information for a security question, which is at least 2 of the following:
    • your postcode
    • last 3 digits of your phone number
    • last 3 digits of your bank account

For benefit accounts, you'll also need your National insurance number.

Step 1: Validate your email address

  1. go to 'register for MyAccount'
  2. click 'register'
  3. type in your email address and click next 
  4. we’ll send you an email - click the link in it to confirm your email address
  5. fill in the form on MyAccount and create a password
  6. you’ll be redirected to the MyAccount main page - click Login to MyAccount
  7. sign in again to complete the email validation process

Step 2: Register to use additional services

You’ll need to do an extra step to verify your identity and access additional information and services on MyAccount. 

  1. when you’re logged in, click Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction or Council Tax
  2. click 'Register to use additional services'
  3. select whether you’re a person or organisation, and enter your Council Tax account number
  4. set up your answers to our security questions - you’ll need to enter at least 2 of the following:
    • your postcode
    • last 3 digits of your phone number
    • last 3 digits of your bank account number
  5. check your email address and click 'agree to terms and conditions'
  6. you can now view additional information and services on MyAccount

Make sure you remember the email address, password, and security question answers that you used. We may ask you for them in the future to confirm your identity.
