The Early Help team includes a number of dedicated Restorative Family Coaches who are trained in all elements of restorative practice and family engagement. The Family Coaches can work flexibly with members of the whole family and any professionals or close relatives required. They may also refer families on to other services that may be able to offer more targeted support. The aim is to work on a family's strengths to help them to work together to repair any difficult relationships and resolve any difficulties.
Family Coaches will meet with families regularly and keep notes about each visit to help them prepare for the next steps needed. Working with a Family Coach is entirely voluntary and families can decide at any point to stop the support being offered. When a family's needs are unknown or unclear a Family Coach can complete an Early Help Assessment Tool and help the family to create an action plan.
