Sutton businesses embrace new networking initiative

For over 10 years I ran a business right here in Sutton. Earlier in the month I was particularly delighted to attend a brilliant networking event for Sutton businesses held in the St. Nicholas Centre. This fantastic initiative, for businesses within the St. Nicholas Centre and beyond, was an opportunity to build stronger connections, share experiences and explore opportunities to work together more effectively.

Stepping into the Attic space at St. Nicholas Centre that evening, I was immediately struck by the energy and enthusiasm in the room. It was great to be able to meet such a diverse range of businesses, representing everything from established retailers to exciting new ventures. The atmosphere was buzzing with conversation, and it was clear that there was a real appetite for connection and collaboration.

The three guest speakers offered invaluable insights into their own journeys to success, sharing practical advice and offering support to those in attendance.

For me, this event demonstrated the immense opportunities that exist when businesses come together. In a rapidly evolving high street, building strong local connections is more vital than ever. By sharing experiences, exploring potential collaborations, and supporting one another, we can collectively navigate the changing landscape and drive growth right here in Sutton.

I was particularly encouraged by the low vacancy rates we are currently seeing in Sutton High Street, a testament to the resilience and attractiveness of Sutton as a place to do business.

My thanks go to the St. Nicholas Centre management team in organising the event and to everyone who came along and contributed to such a positive and productive evening.

As a council, we remain firmly committed to working with our local businesses and creating an environment where they can flourish. Let's continue to work together to ensure a successful and prosperous future for business in Sutton.
