Sutton Council statement on Bondi Beach attack

Leader of the Council, Councillor Barry Lewis issues statement following terrorist attack in Sydney, Australia: 

“My thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Jewish and Australian communities here in Sutton following the horrific terrorist attack in Sydney yesterday on the first night of Hanukkah. 

“As Leader of the Council I will continue to do all that is in my power to ensure that Sutton remains an inclusive place where everyone is welcome and that as a community we stand firmly against all forms of racism, hate, intimidation, and harassment. 
“In a world that continues to seek to divide us, I ask everyone to embrace acts of kindness, tolerance and empathy to one another.

“To all affected by this terrible attack, we stand with you at this difficult time and I wish you all a happy and peaceful Hanukkah.”
