Transport for London has developed a series of Sub-Regional Transport Plans for the five London sub-regions. The South London Sub-Regional Transport Plan covers Sutton and identifies four major transport challenges facing south London as follows:
- reducing public transport crowding
- improving access and movement to, from and within town centres and key places
- improving connectivity to, from and within the sub-region
- managing highway congestion and making efficient use of the road network
The plan sets out TfL’s detailed proposals for addressing the challenges facing south London, including enhancing public transport; improving the resilience of the road network; encouraging more walking and cycling; and reducing the adverse impacts of transport on air quality, noise and health.
The sub-regional transport plan and its updates are available on the TFL website.
