How to register

Living away from your registered address

You can download the information and applications to register to vote if you are in one of these categories:

•    Homeless: If you are homeless, a remand prisoner, or a patient in a mental hospital you are able to register to vote.  Please contact us for an application form or email electoralservices@sutton.gov.uk for further information.

•    Overseas: If you live or work overseas and you are a British citizen you can register online. You will need your passport number before you begin.

•    Member of the Armed Forces: If you are in the armed forces (or your husband, wife or civil partner is in the armed forces) you can register online.  You will need your national insurance number, date of birth and your service details before you begin.

•    Crown Servant: If you are a Crown Servant or British Council employee working overseas (or your husband, wife or civil partner is one) you can register online.  You will need your national insurance number, date of birth and your payroll number before you begin.

•    Anonymous registration - People can register anonymously if they can show that their safety would be at risk if their name or address was listed on the electoral register.  Please contact us for an application form or email electoralservices@sutton.gov.uk for further information.
