STATEMENT: Contractor for new school buildings for Hackbridge Primary School

Published:
12 Feb 2019

Sutton Council has signed a letter of intent with Wilmott Dixon.

We can confirm the company has taken possession of the London Road site, and we are in the process of negotiating with them to complete the works at Hackbridge Primary.

The appointment of Wilmott Dixon follows the council issuing a termination notice on the previous contractor due to performance and project delays.

Until the contract with Wilmott Dixon has been finalised it is not possible for us to commit to a revised delivery date.

A meeting will be held at Hackbridge Primary School (Hackbridge Corner Site) for parents and interested parties on the 5 March 2019 at 6pm to discuss this further.

We will provide an update on the latest position, an update on the likely timescales for completion of the works. We will also allow plenty of time for people to ask any questions they may have about what I have set out in this letter.

You do not need to confirm your attendance at this meeting.

The meeting will take place in the school hall. Entrance to the meeting will be through the wooden gates adjacent to Sainsburys, across the playground directly into the Sports Hall.

A letter has been sent to all parents advising them of the meeting and the latest news.

If you are parent or guardian and you are unable to attend the meeting but would like to ask a question about anything relating to the provision of additional school building at Hackbridge Primary, please contact kieran.holliday@sutton.gov.uk
