Mayor of London’s Citizenship Ceremony

A group of ten representatives from London Borough of Sutton attended the annual Mayor of London’s Citizenship Ceremony at The Queen Elizabeth Hall on the South Bank, 27 February 2019.

The Sutton representatives consisted of Sutton Registration Service staff, Councillors, Sutton residents who have recently gained British citizenship and volunteers from the Gary Mason Charity, Sutton Volunteer Centre and Homestart.

At the event, The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan celebrated Londoner’s gaining British Citizenship and expressed appreciation for the contribution that they make to the City.

Caroline Watson, Volunteer Officer, Sutton Council Registration Service said:

“It was a lovely evening and a great opportunity for us to attend one of the largest British Citizenship Ceremonies ever held.  A special thanks to all the residents and volunteers who accompanied us. We are very lucky to have so many residents who volunteer their services in many organisations within the London Borough of Sutton”.
