Sutton primary schools received 2’726 applications in total this year, a 6% increase compared to last year.

84 per cent of the total number of Sutton applicants - or 2’290 children - secured a place at their first preference school.

93 per cent of the total number of Sutton applicants - 2’535 children - were offered a place at one of their top three preferred schools.

Councillor Marian James, Chair of People Committee at Sutton Council, said:

“We’re ambitious for our local children and young people. That is why I’m pleased that the vast majority of parents, carers and future pupils have once again received an offer for a place at one of their preferred schools.

“Sutton Council has a strong track record of ensuring places despite the challenges of rising demand and the uncertainties in pupil place forecasting”.

“Sutton’s schools are some of the best in London, and the country, so we always face demand. I hope these children go on to enjoy the same success and opportunities as the rest of our older children and young people.”
