This week marks the first ever London Climate Action Week. Taking place from 1 - 8 July 2019, the week focuses on actions we can all take to tackle climate change. 

During the course of the week the council will be posting a series of tips on its Twitter and Facebook accounts which can help you save money and tackle climate change.

In case you miss any of them, the full set of tips is below. 

  • Help to keep fit by ditching the car and using the new Go Sutton bus. For more information and to book your ride visit 

  • Did you know Sutton has less rainfall than Barcelona and Sydney? We all need to take action to reduce our water. You can help by using the water saving tips and devices available from SES Water. For more information visit

  • Try going meat free one day a week - it’s great for your health and the environment. Visit the Small Change Big Difference website for some great ideas to reduce food waste and save money too

  • Peatlands are a great environment for plants and animals. Go peat free in your garden. Find out more by visiting

  • Help reduce single use plastics by taking a reusable bag to the shops, it will save you buying one too!
