Solar Together London helps Sutton’s homeowners feel confident that they are paying the right price for a high-quality installation from a vetted installer, which will boost local renewable energy generation.

Last year, three Solar Together schemes across the country resulted in over 1,650 installations - of which 59 are in Sutton – and an impressive 35,000 tonnes of avoided lifetime carbon emissions.

Sutton residents have until 22 October 2019 to join Solar Together London. It is free to register and there is no obligation to install panels. Sutton is one of 12 London boroughs which have partnered with the Greater London Authority and the group-buying specialist, iChoosr Ltd, to bring this opportunity to London homeowners.

Councillor Manuel Abellan, Chair of the Environment and Neighbourhood Committee at Sutton Council, said:

“I’m really pleased that residents have another chance to take part in the Solar Together scheme, after more than 600 households in Sutton registered their interest last year. Generating renewable energy locally lowers residents’ energy bills while supporting our Environmental Strategy. We are ambitious for Sutton, and schemes like this are helping us to meet our zero-carbon targets and become London’s most sustainable borough.”

Marie-Louise Abretti, iChoosr UK Solar Manager added: “Solar Together London reaches out to the thousands of households interested in reducing their environmental impact by exploring solar energy, but who would welcome a helping hand on their journey to making an informed decision.”

How does it work?

  • Householders can register online to become part of the group for free and without obligation.

  • Pre-vetted UK solar photovoltaic (PV) suppliers will participate in an auction on 22 October 2019. They are able to offer compelling pricing as the volume and geographic concentration will make it possible for them to deliver greater efficiencies, which they pass on with lower prices for installations.

  • After the auction, registered households will receive a personal recommendation.

  • If they choose to accept their recommendation, the specifics of their installation will be confirmed with a technical survey after which a date can be set for the installation of their solar PV system.

  • Telephone and email help desks are on-hand throughout the whole process and information sessions will allow households to make an informed decision in a safe and hassle-free environment.
