Sutton welcomes new Monitoring Officer

Stephen has held several leadership positions within local government for over 30 years, and brings over 20 years of experience as a Monitoring Officer.

He joins the authority as it delivers its Ambitious for Sutton agenda, with exciting prospects such as the London Borough of Culture 2023, the London Cancer Hub and the continued regeneration of local town and district centres ahead.

Stephen has worked with over 25 different councils around the country.

Prior to this appointment, Stephen was the Interim Director of Legal and Democratic Services at Milton Keynes Borough Council. 

Stephen, on his appointment, said: 

“I am delighted to be joining Sutton and getting on board during a really exciting time for the borough.

“I’m looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead, meeting the team and building on the great work already underway in Sutton.
