“We have been informed of the very sad loss of a valued member of our borough’s care sector. A colleague working in one of Sutton’s Learning Disability care homes sadly passed away in January after testing positive for COVID-19.

"Lynda Quaye was a popular and very well respected member of staff. She worked hard to care for some of the borough's most vulnerable residents and was well known for her willingness to help others, her kindness and compassion. She was a hugely valued member of Sutton's care sector and will be sorely missed. On behalf of Sutton Council, I would like to send sincere condolences to her family. Our thoughts are with them and Linda’s colleagues, who have worked so hard to support and care for the most vulnerable residents in our borough.

“Here in Sutton, the Council is working closely with our partners and the NHS to continue to support those working on the frontline during this pandemic, as well as our residents.

“I want to reassure you that there are plenty of tests available if you have symptoms and of course care home staff also have access to regular testing in their workplace. We continue to work closely with the NHS to support the roll out of the vaccine. Please continue to follow the public health guidance until it is safe for the current restrictions to be lifted.”
