Beddington Lane improvement work

Work is set to take place on the next phase of the Beddington Lane major improvement scheme from Monday 17 January.

The work will bring improvements to the transport corridor along Beddington Lane and Hilliers Lane by providing a fully segregated cycle/footway from Beddington Lane TramLink to Beddington Village, journey time improvements for buses and private vehicles as a result of improvements to the Beddington Lane/ Marlowe Way Junction, and improved public areas around Beddington Lane Tramlink stop.

Improvement work continues along the transport corridor at Beddington Lane to make the area safer for cyclists and pedestrians, and provide better travel choices for local businesses and residents.

The current road closure between the junctions with Bath House Road and Marlowe Way will continue until the end of May (with access to both junctions being maintained) and the works will then move to a stretch of road between Greenland Way and Beddington Cross.

If you have any questions or concerns about these works you can contact our Highways Team by email at beddingtonmajorproject@sutton.gov.uk.

Bus route changes

From 7:30am on Monday 17 January until approximately 6pm on Monday 1 August, the 455 bus route will be on diversion via Marlowe Road and Beddington Farm Road. Buses will be unable to serve the stops from 'Beddington Lane / Sewage Treatment Works' to 'Therapia Lane Tram Stop' in either direction throughout the duration of these works.
