The Council received planning permission in November 2022 to redevelop the former Gower House site and build a block of 11 flats. The project completed in October 2024 and all 11 flats have been let to families and residents on our waiting list.
We are pleased to announce that this is the Council’s first Passivhaus housing development. Passivhaus is a leading international design standard that requires new developments to deliver high standards of comfort and health, while slashing energy use and reducing fuel poverty. This means that fuel bills will be reduced by circa 40% savings compared to schemes built to the minimum building regulation standards.
The finished development has:
1 one-bedroom wheelchair adapted flat
1 one- bedroom flat
9 two-bedroom flats
Parking
Children's play area
We are grateful to the GLA for their funding and support, which has greatly assisted the Council in delivering these much needed affordable homes.
