Benefits and training for foster carers
Find out how we support our foster carers financially and through training.
We’re a not for profit organisation, dedicated to keeping fostered children in Sutton and close to their birth family, friends and schools.
When you foster with us, we’ll provide you with financial support, training and guidance to help you give a caring home for the children you look after.
Training and support
You’ll get training and support from our team and other foster carers, including:
- regular meetings and guidance from an allocated supervising social worker
- 24/7 support from our Emergency Duty Team
- a comprehensive training package
- access to therapeutic support
- mentoring from experienced foster carers in your first year of fostering
- a supportive local network of other foster carers through support groups and social events
- free membership with the Fostering Network
Benefits we pay
We offer a generous allowance and fee package to our foster carers. For most foster carers, this will be tax free and will not affect any benefits you’re currently receiving.
Enhanced Placement fee
We pay an enhanced placement fee depending on a child's additional or specific needs. We'll agree this with carers on a case by case basis.
