Burst water main in Stonecot Hill

As Transport for London (TfL) is responsible for the road, they have closed a section of the A24 at Stonecot Hill in both directions. Buses are being diverted along Sutton Common Road and Gander Green Lane to avoid the area affected.  

The Sutton & East Surrey Water company is working on urgent repairs and estimates that the leak will be fixed this evening (7 April).

Road resurfacing works will follow and are expected to continue into the weekend. Transport for London has advised that these works will take 3-4 days to complete.

Sutton Council is working with TfL to minimise disruption. We will be updating our website and social media channels to keep residents informed.
