Carers are a vital part of Suttons community- not only through there being in excess of 16,000 carers in the borough but through their enormous contributions to the health, independence and wellbeing of others, We have worked with Carers, local groups and partners to develop a new Carers Strategy in the borough for 20225-2030. This strategy was agreed at the Health and Wellbeing Board on the 14th April.
Carers are as diverse as those they care for and in developing the strategy a particular focus has been upon the engagement of carers across Suttons communities.
The strategy using a number of co-production and engagement approaches, identifies 4 key priorities which are:
Against each of these priorities are a series of 'we will' commitments shaped by co-production and feedback from Carers themselves. improving support to Carers and how we work with Carers and partners in care accross activity ranging from completing reviews and assessments through to shaping services and what we do.
Strategy implementation will be supported by the development of a detailed delivery plan-which will be subject to further co-production with Carers, groups and partners.
