Ramadan is a month-long tradition observed by the Islamic community, where individuals and families engage in fasting from sunrise and sunset every day.

The period begins at the start of the lunar cycle signified by the sighting of the moon, and finishes when the moon completes its cycle leading into Eid, 'Festival of Breaking the Fast’.

This year Ramadan is set to start on Saturday 2 April until Monday 2 May.

We have 1000s of books in our libraries across many faiths, multiple languages, aimed at all ages. This includes, ‘Celebrate The World: Ramadan’, a perfect story for explaining the season to young children.

A video of the book can be found on Facebook.
