The Council is still carrying out some urgent repairs to 316 Malden Road. During this time, residents are unable to go to the Day Centre.

The Council has sent this letter to everyone it knows to be using Cheam Priory Day Centre's services. The letter provides an update on the repairs and offers support to ensure that the care they are receiving is safe and meets their individual needs.

What has happened at 316 Malden Road?

The Council has closed 316 Malden Road. This means that Cheam Priory Day Centre is unable to run their services from this building.

If you or someone you care for uses these services, or if you work or volunteer for Cheam Priory Day Centre, please contact the Council using the details below.

Trained colleagues from the Council’s adult social care team will be on hand to provide more information and help you access other support.

Why is this happening?

The Council knows this news may be concerning for those residents or families who use the Centre. The Council has taken this action because rent has not been paid and urgent repairs are needed to the building.

It’s important we are able to make sure the highest quality of services are being provided in a safe environment.

How long will the building be closed?

At this stage, we do not know how long the building will be closed for. It is the Council’s intention that the building should re-open.

The Council’s priority is to make sure that those who use the Centre continue to get the support they need.
