Daily Mile Art Exhibition

Pupils from reception, key stage 1, and key stage 2 participated in the competition by submitting pictures that show why ‘the Daily Mile makes me smile!’

The competition received an overwhelming response, with over 700 entries from 16 schools.

Join us to see the winning artwork and 100s of submitted entries from across the competition will be on display at Honeywood Museum in Carshalton. Children will have a chance to see their artwork on display, take part in a walking trail and show everyone how much the Daily Mile Makes them smile! The exhibition is available to visit from Thursday 25th May to Saturday 17th June 2023, during the opening hours 10am to 5pm Thursday to Saturday.

Sutton Ecology Centre trail

Feeling inspired by why the Daily Mile makes children smile, after visiting the exhibition, you can walk, jog or wheel through a trail at the nearby Sutton Ecology Centre. Please note, limited paper copies of the trail will be available at the exhibition. 

Promoting physical activity

The Daily Mile aims to encourage children to walk, jog, run, wheel or toddle a mile everyday, regardless of age or ability.

What is the Daily Mile?

The Daily Mile is an initiative to improve children’s wellbeing through 15 minutes of walking, running or wheeling each day. This can be done by anyone  - regardless of age, ability or personal circumstances; and anywhere – in the school playground or a local park. 

Half of primary schools in Sutton are participating in the Daily Mile with 47% of children in Sutton averaging 60 minutes of activity every day.
