You can apply for a Disabled Facilities Grant if you are disabled and need to make changes to your home.
The grant can help with the cost of adapting your home to enable you to continue to live there.

We prioritise grant applications based on urgent risk and medical need. Applications for residents with rapidly progressing or life-limiting conditions are fast-tracked to ensure adaptations are delivered as quickly as possible.
You can spend the grant on adaptations to help you or someone you care for:

The amount you'll get is based on a financial assessment (means test) of your income, savings and investments.
If the adaptations are for someone under 18, we won't ask you to do a financial assessment.
We won't be able to approve a grant if you've already completed the work.
We won't be able to approve a grant if the work has been started, unless there's a good reason why.
If you sell a property within 5 years of receiving a grant of more than £5,000, we'll ask you to repay some of the money. The most we'll ask you to repay is £10,000.
Before applying for a grant, you must request an occupational therapy assessment.
The occupational therapy team will talk to you about how you're managing at home. They'll recommend equipment or changes to make tasks easier.
If you're eligible for a grant, they'll refer you to the housing team.
