Doing their bit for our communities

There are more than 15 different types of volunteer roles within Cultural Services, ranging from Rhymetime Assistant in one of Sutton’s eight libraries to Front of House Assistant in one of the borough’s heritage houses.

Irani Grecco, Inclusive Music Educator, recorded Rhymetime sessions during the pandemic.

“Volunteering for Sutton Libraries was a great privilege and opportunity to help the community. I am very proud to take part with my music,” said Irani.

“We are living in challenging times which inspired me to think of songs that could bring comfort, positivity and hope for better days. I just wanted to do my bit to get families to watch, sing and be happy.”

For Volunteer Officer Caroline Watson, Volunteers’ Week was a great opportunity to say thank you

“We are incredibly grateful to have so many enthusiastic and friendly volunteers who add so much value to our service,” said Caroline.

“The volunteers bring their unique skills and expertise from all walks of life, which adds an additional layer to our cultural offer.”
