Sutton Council Business Support

South London Careers Hub

The South London Careers Hub links local business representatives and business leaders to schools and colleges to develop their careers curriculum and provide young people with the opportunity to better understand the world of work.

The project encourages schools or colleges to join the hub and volunteers to become Enterprise Advisers. Contact SLcareershub@southlondonpartnership.co.uk for more information.

Can you offer a young person with special educational needs or disabilities an opportunity to gain work experience through a supported internship? If so, please contact business@sutton.gov.uk.

The Skills for Life campaign has training and employment schemes available for businesses. It can help boost the skill set of your workforce and offers opportunities, including apprenticeships, traineeships and T-Levels.

Good Business Charter

The Good Business Charter provides an accreditation to businesses that deliver responsible business practices.

Mayor's Good Work Standard

Sign up to the Mayor’s Good Work Standard. Benefits include endorsement from the Greater London Authority (GLA) and support to help your business recruit and retain the best skills and talent.

London Progression Collaboration

The London Progression Collaboration helps employers to identify the business benefits to hiring an apprentice.

If your business would benefit from taking on an apprentice and does not currently pay the apprenticeship levy, email business@sutton.gov.uk. Sutton Council may be able to transfer its Levy funds to pay for the assessment and training of the apprentice.
