The consultations ask local residents and stakeholders to comment on ways to reduce pollution, promote healthier modes of transport and generally make the streets safer and cleaner for local communities. New interactive mapping tools in the online surveys allow respondents to indicate exact locations where they think changes are needed, and face to face drop-in sessions in both neighbourhoods will allow residents to speak directly with officers and provide feedback.

These consultations are part of the Council’s drive to support our communities as we recover from the pandemic and form part of the Ambitious for Sutton plan which prioritises the importance of the physical environment and improvements to air quality.

Councillor Manuel Abellan, Chair of Sutton Council’s Environment & Sustainable Transport Committee, said:

“Sutton is one of the greenest and safest boroughs in London and we are ambitious about making more improvements, so that the borough has even more to offer its residents, visitors, businesses and communities.

"These consultations offer residents and businesses a chance to tell us exactly what their neighbourhoods need. We are keen to ensure that we hear from as many residents as possible, so please do take part as this is your chance to tell us your priorities and concerns for your local area.”

The consultations opened on Monday 18 October 2021 and will close eight weeks later on 13 December. The consultations can be accessed online here:
