Local Elections
Local elections will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026 to elect new local councillors in the borough.
A provision of The Local Authorities (Referendums) (Petitions) (England) Regulations 2011 allows electors in the Council’s area to petition the Council to hold a referendum on whether a local authority should change its form of governance. A petition must be signed by at least 5% of the local government electors for the London Borough of Sutton.
