Support and information for adults living with a physical disability.
We support people from the age of 18, who are living with a physical disability. We also support parent carers of children with a physical disability.
A physical disability is any condition that permanently prevents normal body movement or control. It can be anything that impacts on the person’s ability to go about their life.

You can request a care needs assessment to find out if you’re entitled to support with your care.
If you’re eligible for support from the Council, you can buy your own care with a Personal Budget. This is a Direct Payment given to you to pay for your care services.
We'll first carry out a financial assessment to check you're getting all of the benefits you are entitled to.
Depending on your situation, the assessment may find that you have to contribute towards your care costs, or you could get the service free.
Our START team supports adults who have left hospital, had an illness or fall, or change in social circumstance such as a bereavement.

If you have difficulty walking or moving around, you can find out about wheelchairs and mobility aids.
Our occupational therapy team can help with getting specialist equipment or make adaptations to your home to help you stay independent.
Parking concessions are available to disabled people who qualify for the Blue Badge scheme.
