Sharing your heart and home

As a Council, we are proud of our wonderful foster carers and we recognise the huge commitment they make to provide a home for a child or young person.

There are a number of reasons why children and young people aren’t able to live with their birth families. This Foster Care Fortnight, we’re celebrating some of Sutton’s amazing foster carers and holding events for those of you who would like to find out more about fostering in Sutton.

Foster carers really do make a difference. I have spoken with foster carers who have told me that while it can be hard work, the satisfaction really does outweigh the challenges and that they are privileged to have the unique opportunity to have a very positive impact on a child’s life.

Sutton needs more foster carers. To find out more about fostering and the support which Sutton Council offers, then please take a look at our fostering in Sutton website or come and speak to us at one of our events.

We have a fantastic team who can give you advice and they are available to speak with you on Saturday 20 May from 9am to 2pm at the Fostering Stall at Cheam Charter Fair in Park Road, Cheam SM3 8PY.

If you are unable to go to the Cheam Charter Fair, then the fostering team will be at a drop-in session on Tuesday 23 May from 2pm to 4pm in TazZa Coffee shop at 188 High Street, Sutton SM1 1NR.

It is a very special person or family who welcomes someone new into their home and for all foster carers in Sutton I want to thank you for all you do.
