Sutton Council demands incinerator expansion is refused after latest emissions breaches revealed

Sutton Council has today (22 August 2025) written to the Government and the Environment Agency renewing its demand that the application by Viridor to expand the amount of waste treated at the Beddington Energy Recovery Facility is refused. This follows the latest series of emission breaches at the site.
