Sutton’s Community Awards to celebrate local heroes in a virtual awards ceremony

For the second year running, Sutton's Community Awards is being delivered in partnership between Community Action Sutton, Sutton Housing Partnership, Volunteer Centre Sutton, and Sutton Council. The awards celebrate the individuals, volunteers and community groups that have made an exceptional contribution to making Sutton a better place to live, work and raise a family.

 They recognise those who have gone above and beyond in the face of COVID-19. Almost 300 entries were received across the eight award categories. 

The judging panel included representatives from across the community including local business, organisations, charities and residents associations. The award categories are:

• Outstanding Community Champion

• The Terence Cort Award 

• The Herb Chinzou Award

• Outstanding Volunteer

• Outstanding Volunteering Group

• Outstanding Young Person

• Outstanding Voluntary and Community Sector Organisation of the Year

• Sue Robson Trustee of the Year

The awards ceremony will take place virtually via the Council’s YouTube channel on Wednesday 3 February 2021.
