The Council's housing services managed by Sutton Housing Partnership (SHP) have been awarded the highest possible rating of C1 after an inspection by the Government’s Regulator for Social Housing.

Sutton is one of only a small number of local authorities in England to have been awarded the highest rating, demonstrating that we are delivering on our promise to provide safe, high-quality homes alongside excellent services for our residents.

Having a safe and decent home is important to nearly every aspect of a person’s life, from their health and wellbeing to their success and stability. It is often thought of as the foundation upon which everything else is built.

As a council, one of our main responsibilities is to provide and manage good quality housing for our residents. We have to make sure that all the properties we house our residents in are in a good condition and are safe and of a decent standard.

With over 6000 council homes and 500 more set to be built in the next five years, we are also doing all we can to improve access to good, quality, affordable social housing that we know our residents need.

You can learn more about the Council’s approach to tackling the housing crisis by building more social housing, fit for the future, through the 1.5M New Homes: The Local Government Challenge YouTube series

Interviews feature Sutton residents, senior council officers, Councillors and our partners, talking about the success of our approach to make sure people in Sutton get the homes they need. This is based on listening to our residents, providing continuous feedback so that we learn, improve, and deliver even better homes for the future.
