Winners of 2018 Sutton in Bloom competition revealed

The winners and runners-up of this year’s Sutton in Bloom competition were presented with their awards, on Thursday 12 July, by the Mayor of Sutton, Cllr Steve Cook, at a ceremony held at Beddington Park Pavillion.

The best of the entries will now represent the borough at the prestigious London in Bloom competition, whose expert judges were present at our Sutton in Bloom awards ceremony on Thursday.  The London in Bloom Awards Ceremony will be held on 20 September.

Prizes were awarded in five categories: Best Front Garden; Best Community Garden; Best Business Frontage; Best Allotment Garden; and Best School Garden.

The winners, runners-up and third prize (where awarded) in each category were as follows:

Best Front Garden:

  3. Suzanne Wheable

Best Community Garden:

  1. Aliya Phelps-Gardiner (Cheam Kitchens)

  2. Peter Haycox

  3. Kevin Plicio (YourspaceSutton - Seear's Park Nursery)

Best Business Frontage:

  1. The Windsor Castle

  2. The Railway Tavern

  3. Sutton Business Centre

Best Allotment Garden:

  1. Astrid Svindland

  2. Abbey Featherstone

Best School Garden:

  1. Muschamp Primary school

  2. Beddington infants school
