Book a site inspection

After you have submitted the correct building control application, you can book a site inspection.

It is your responsibility to ensure that site inspections are carried out at the right stages of your project. Read the schedule of the key notification stages.

If your works are not listed on our standard schedule, you’ll need to discuss this with the building inspector during the commencement stage.

If you’re unsure if your application has been submitted, you can search the application register.

What you’ll need

You’ll need to have:

completed your application and paid the fees at least 48 hours before you make a booking
your building control application number to hand when making a booking

Bookings are available Monday to Friday (except Public Holidays).

Bookings cannot be booked for a specific time. Inspectors will be on site between 9.30am and 4.30pm on your chosen day.
