Sutton Spring Clean Fact Finding Trail - Launch Event!

Join us on Saturday 23rd March 2024 on Sutton High Street to take part in our spring clean fact-finding trail! Pick up a map at our event and find the answers to our questions on the litter bins in Sutton Town Centre. Complete the trail to be entered into a competition to win a child’s Fitbit tracker. All completed entries will receive a litter-picking pack including a litter picker and bags, allowing you to take part in your own litter pick.

Can’t make the event? Don’t worry, a stock of maps can be found at Sutton Library or the St Nicholas Shopping Centre help desk. Or download a digital version.

Sutton Council is working harder than ever to keep the streets and parks of the borough clean. But despite our best efforts, litter remains a problem and the borough is not as clean as we would all like it to be. We all have an important role to play in making Sutton look its best - 80% of local people believe that keeping streets and parks clean is a shared responsibility.

A simple way you can help make a difference is by litter picking. One in five Sutton residents say they regularly litter pick - why not join them and get involved with the Sutton Spring Clean?

You can take part in Sutton Spring Clean and become a fully-fledged litter-picker by following these three simple steps:

1. Make a pledge TODAY to pick up as much litter as you can during the annual nationwide Great British Spring Clean (15th to 31st March). Whether you aim to pick up one bag or 50 - it all counts!

You can pledge to:

  • litter pick as an individual

  • litter pick as a ‘group’

  • litter pick as a school.

Make your pledge on the Keep Britain Tidy website

2. Pick up your FREE ‘litter pick pack’ from Sutton Council between 11am and 4pm on Trinity Square on Saturday 23rd March (while stocks last).
If you can’t make it, you can borrow litter-picking packs from us

3. Roll up your sleeves during the Great British Spring Clean (15th March to 31st March) and get litter picking - take some photos and share them on social media using the hashtags #GBSpringClean and #SuttonSpringClean
