Applying for secondary school (year 7) - Apply for a school place
Online applicants will receive an email notifying them of their outcome in the evening of 1 March 2017. After you have received your email, you should be able to check and accept your place online at www.eadmissions.org.uk using the username and password used to make your application. Outcome letters were posted to all applicants who applied using a paper form on 1 March 2017.
Find information on transferring from primary to secondary school in September 2017 for children born between 1 September 2005 and 31 August 2006.
You can start your online application from 1 September 2016 and have until 31 October 2016 to apply. National Offer Day will be 1 March 2017.
Before you apply we strongly advise that you:
- Read the Transfer to Secondary School Guidance Booklet explaining the application process. Last years allocation of places and how each school will allocate places this year
- Watch our guidance video which explains how to apply for a school place online
- contact schools to check transport routes or to arrange a visit to hear from staff about the school achievements and plans for the future and to check the school facilities. Please visit school websites for possible open day dates or for details of how to contact them.

Once you have reviewed the above guidance and chosen the schools you would like to apply to, the easiest way is to apply online using the e-admissions website (applications are open from 1st September 2016)
Some schools may ask for a supplementary form to be completed. The online application will advise you if this is the case, or for more information visit the admissions arrangement page.
