Local Plan

The Council’s Strategic Planning service is currently preparing the Sutton Local Plan which will replace the Local Development Framework (LDF) when adopted.

Self-build and custom housebuilding

Authority Monitoring Report (AMR)

The Authority Monitoring Report (AMR) reviews the effectiveness of the Council's planning policies in achieving the objectives of Sutton’s adopted planning policies and current progress towards preparing the Local Plan.

Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)

CIL is a levy on new developments in Sutton to fund new infrastructure to meet the needs of residents, local communities and businesses.

Transport Policy

The sustainable transport strategy sets out the council's policies and proposals to improve Sutton's transport and environment over the next decade.

Planning for Sustainable Drainage (SUDS)

The new arrangements for securing sustainable drainage (SUDS) measures proposed as part of major developments were introduced by the government on 6 April 2015. As part of these changes, new ‘non­-statutory’ national SUDS standards have been introduced and government planning policies have been strengthened to make clear that SUDS should be delivered in all new developments.
