Cycle skills sessions

Bikeability Cycle Training for children (advanced level 2 and 3)

Offered to confident cyclists of secondary school age who have already achieved Bikeability Level 2.

The course aims to build skills so young cyclists feel more confident about undertaking longer journeys including main roads. A session can be shared by two cyclists of similar abilities.

Training is delivered over a single session. Following a practical assessment of trainees’ skills, we will recap Bikeability Level 2 and proceed to learn more advanced skills such as:

  • route planning

  • how to deal with roundabouts, traffic light controlled junctions and main roads

  • cycling in heavier traffic

Our professional cycling instructors are nationally accredited and available seven days a week to meet your child at a time and place to suit you. Training sessions are tailored to their needs and normally last between two hours. They are fully funded by TfL but please note there is a £10 administration charge for any cancellations within two working days of a session.
