Richard Simpson appointed Sutton Council's Strategic Director of Resources

He joined the council on an interim basis earlier this year from the London Borough of Croydon, where he performed a similar role to his current one. 

Leader of the Council, Councillor Ruth Dombey, said: “I have been impressed by Richard’s drive as well as his obvious knowledge and experience since he joined Sutton. He has thoroughly embraced our ambitious plans and it is a testament to his vision and hard work that our recommendation to appoint him on a permanent basis was agreed unanimously.

“Sutton is already a great place to live, work and raise a family and I am confident we have the right team to realise the exciting developments before us, including the completion of the world-class London Cancer Hub in the borough.”

Sutton Council’s Senior Officer Appointments Committee was unanimous in its decision to appoint Richard on a permanent basis.
