A message to the community following the shooting in North Cheam

"I was shocked and saddened to hear of the fatal shooting in North Cheam this morning. My thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased young man and residents nearby.

"The Council will do all it can to support Sutton Police as it investigates. That we usually live in such a safe borough makes events such as these even harder for the community. The Council will also be offering support to any residents who need it with our partners and volunteers."
