As new restrictions come into place for the national lockdown in Sutton, the Council are committed to continue supporting children, young people, adults and their families through services and in partnership with schools, settings and social care providers.

Support for families, children and vulnerable adults remains available across the Council’s website, with telephone support also available.

Families known to the Council were being supported both through a range of services and activities in half term. This work will continue to be delivered safely and in a socially distanced setting if critical, or virtually over November and December. During this period, the Council will continue to ensure that all children are safe in their homes and that all children, families and carers receive the support they need. Elderly and vulnerable adults also remain a priority and specialist support is in place for those with a range of needs.

Councilor Marian James, Chair of the People Committee said; “As we enter into another period of restrictions it is important to acknowledge the hard work and community spirit shown across all of our services. From conversations with residents, Council staff and partners I know that education and social care are at the front line of Sutton’s response to COVID-19. I am amazed by the wonderful stories of how people across so many key areas go above and beyond and have taken learnings from the previous lockdown to ensure as much continuity as possible in November and December.”
